In this chapter, Chairman Mao turns the teachers against the cultural revolution, and tells the students to write Da Zi Bao about their teachers. Da Zi Bao is a poster that criticizes some people who Mao thought bad. So, in the school, the teachers aren't there and the students starts writing about the teachers. But, Jili and An Yi can't write any, because they don't know what to write. But then, they see a Da Zi Bao copied from a newspaper they read yesterday. Also sometime during the school, the kids go to post a Da Zi Bao about Jili's aunt, because she used all kinds of foreign things. Du Hai and Yin Lan Lan leads the kids does all the bad things to Jili's aunt. Then after the school, An Yi finds a Da Zi Bao about her best friend, Jili. Then she goes to Jili and tells her about the Da Zi Bao , and they go to see the Da Zi Bao in the school. An Yi says that she saw Du Hai and few other kids writing it. Then Jili starts crying because she's so sad and stops going to her school for days.
